New Bedford Police searching for woman after police chase

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford Police Department are searching for a woman who almost struck two detectives during a police chase Wednesday.

64-year-old Clifford Colby, of Bourne, will be charged with failing to stop for police, leaving the scene of property damage, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police said the chase occurred around 5 p.m. when they attempted to stop the vehicle.

Colby allegedly nearly struck two detectives and hit two unmarked police vehicles before police ended the chase.

The charges have been requested to be filed through the local court system by police for when she is arrested.
