Partial demolition of Webster Mill complete
NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass (WLNE) — The town of North Attleborough has completed its partial demolition of the Webster Mill.
The remaining wooden portions of the Webster Mill building were demolished, with the only remaining structure being concrete portions that are deemed structurally safe for now by the Board of Survey.
Broadway will be reopened to all traffic and the detour will be discontinued at noon.
A reinforced poly film membrane was applied to the wooden portion of the mill before demolition to mitigate the spread of asbestos and other hazardous materials.
The testing of air samples indicate there were so few fibers of asbestos detected that results could not meet the limit to quantify them accurately.
The portion of the building left standing has been boarded up to prevent entry and six-foot fence will be built around the perimeter.
