New Bedford Police arrest man in cemetery after police chase

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) –Massachusetts State Police said a man was arrested by New Bedford Police after a police chase Friday night.

State Trooper Brandon Doherty said that a vehicle fled from a state police officer around 9:30 p.m. near the Freetown/New Bedford line.

The officer ended the pursuit near Hathaway Road, and New Bedford police found the vehicle in a nearby cemetery.

Doherty said one male was detained and the investigation is ongoing.
