Hopkinton dog owner fined after nearly 30 dogs seized

HOPKINTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A man has been fined on violations of town ordinance after 27 dogs were seized from his home last Friday.
According to the Hopkinton Police Chief, Peter Reynolds has been charged with the following:
- 7 counts of unlicensed dog
- 5 counts of failure to confine females in heat
- Failure to have a kennel license
The fines amounted to $1,945.
Police responded to a call on March 8 from someone who had purchased a puppy from Reynolds.
Seven adult and 20 Golden Retriever puppies were rescued by the RISPCA.
Police shared that they needed hazmat gear to enter the house safely.
RISPCA said that the puppies will be up for adoption in the near future.
