UPDATE: Fall River victim in shooting death was a student

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Fall River Public Schools Superintendent, Maria Pointes, was notified that a student of the Resiliency Preparatory Academy was the victim of a shooting death.
Police responded to a call of shots fired just after 11:30 a.m. Thursday on Rock St.
Upon arrival, they found a victim who sustained gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified as 18-year-old Colus Jamal Mills-Good, was pronounced deceased at St. Lukes Hospital.
The school released the following statement:
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life. Our thoughts and prayers are with our student’s family, friends and loved ones. We ask that you respect their privacy during this very difficult time. Out of an abundance of caution, we will have an increased police presence in our schools. We will also have counselors available to support the RLM Resiliency Preparatory Academy community.”
This is an active investigation.
Police shared that the department has activated post crime impact teams who will remain in the area over the next several days.
