Brockton man arrested for handgun altered to be fully automatic

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A Brockton man was arrested in New Bedford for possession of an illegal firearm Tuesday.
New Bedford police received information that 18-year-old Zsandor O’Malley was in possession of a pistol, with several photographs posted to Snapchat showing him posing with the weapon.
O’Malley was the passenger of a vehicle that was stopped in the area of the County Street/Bedford Street intersection on March 12.
After being removed from the vehicle, he was searched and found to be in possession of a handgun with an auto sear switch, which coverts a semi-automatic firearm into a fully automatic.
O’Malley was taken into custody and is charged with carrying and possession of a loaded machine gun without a license.
