Providence attempted kidnapping suspect appears in court

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The suspect in a March 7 attempted kidnapping in Providence faced a judge Tuesday.

Marc Pierre, 45, did not enter a plea and faces one charge of kidnapping and will be represented by a public defender.

Pierre was ordered held without bail and will next appear for status review on March 26.

Pierre was issued a no-contact order with the witness and an order to have no contact with anyone under 18 years of age.

He was also ordered to surrender any firearms should he be released as well as any passport.
