Woman arrested in Dominican Republic in connection to 2019 shooting of David Ortiz
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A woman has just been arrested in the Dominican Republic in connection with the 2019 shooting of David Ortiz.
Police say 25-year-old María Fernanda Villasmil Manzanilla was arrested by Interpol on Tuesday.
Police seized her phones, bank cards, and other personal belongings, and she’s now being held by the public ministry in the Dominican Republic.
Police have not yet announced what charges she’s facing in connection to the shooting.
Ten men were sentenced in the shooting back in 2022.
