Helicopter mechanic taken to hospital after being injured by Blackhawk at Quonset National Guard Station

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — A Blackhawk mechanic has been taken to the hospital after being injured at Quonset Point Air National Guard Station.

Assistant Chief of Staff Maj. Jarred Rickey said that the mechanic ran into the helicopters stabilator, which is the large horizontal “fin” on the back of the vehicle.

He added that the helicopter was “parked and not running.”

The condition of the mechanic has not been released.
