UPDATE: Injured Quonset helicopter mechanic expected to be ok

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — A Blackhawk mechanic who was injured when he ran into a helicopter’s stabilator at Quonset Point Air National Guard Station is expected to be ok.

The mechanic suffered from cuts on his chin and inside his mouth that required stitches and a possible concussion due to the fall.

His head injury required staples, but his scans all came back normal.

He was released from the hospital early Friday morning.
