FARMINGTON, Conn. (WLNE) – Accused killer Fotis Dulos is currently at a hospital in New York being treated in a hyberbaric chamber for carbon monoxide poisoning after attempting suicide.
“Officers from the Farmington Police Department were asked to respond to the Dulos residence for a well being check because he was late for a court appearance today,” said Farmington Police Lt. Tim McKenzie at a press conference Tuesday.
Dulos, who is accused of killing his estranged wife Jennifer, was supposed to be at an emergency bond hearing Tuesday morning.
His bond, most likely to be revoked because the properties he’d used to cover the $6 million bond are being foreclosed on.
Instead, officers found him in his car at his home in Farmington, Conn.
“They could see through a window that Mr. Dulos was sitting in his vehicle and he had obvious signs of medical distress,” said Lt. McKenzie.
As the news broke earlier Tuesday, there were conflicting reports as to whether or not Dulos was actually still alive.
“I don’t have any confirmation of death,” said his attorney Kevin Smith outside the courthouse.
Dulos was first brought to UCONN Health where he was listed in critical condition, but then flown to New York for further treatment.
Dulos has continued to maintain his innocence after his wife Jennifer went missing after dropping off their children at school in May.
Traces of her blood have been found around the home, but not her body.
She is presumed dead.
