Lincoln Route 146 ramp closure postponed to April

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said that the closure of the on-ramp from Route 146 South to Interstate 295 North in Lincoln has been postponed to April 5.
The closure was originally scheduled to begin March 22 but was delayed due to inclement weather.
The ramp will be closed starting at 10 p.m. and will not reopen until the fall as part of construction on the bridge that carries I-295 North over Route 146.
RIDOT said that during the closure drivers will need to take the next exit onto Route 116 and follow detour signs to reverse direction, using Route 146 North to the I-295 North on-ramp.
The department added that drivers on I-295 North heading to Route 146 North should stay right before the interchange and be prepared to take the exit sooner than they normally do.
