East Side Tunnel in Providence closed until September

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority will be closing the East Side Tunnel in Providence for several months.

The construction is expected to last until mid-September and will cause many RIPTA route detours until the repairs are finished.

Routes 32, 33, 34, 40 and route one are all included in routes that will be affected and there will be a temporary bus stop on the traffic island on Washington Place.
