Man stabbed in the chest in Burrillville Sunday night

A man was stabbed in a Burrilville home (WLNE)

BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WLNE) — Burrillville police responded to Lake Drive for reports of a stabbing Sunday night around 9:15.

A 23-year-old male resident at the address was involved in an altercation with three juveniles from Connecticut.

The three juveniles came to the home to pick up the victim’s girlfriend, who had just been in an argument with the victim.

A 17-year-old from Windsor, Connecticut attacked the victim with a knife, stabbing him several times in the chest.

The three juveniles fled the scene and the victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he is in critical, but stable condition.

The juveniles all came back to Burrillville police headquarters Sunday night accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Monday morning, the juvenile accused in the stabbing was charged in Providence Family Court with assault with intent to murder.
