The community project includes the following elements:

  • Right-of-way improvements
  • Shoreline resiliency and environmental protection upgrades
  • Removal of fuel tanks and Transfer Station infrastructure
  • Development of a shoreline access path, shelter and accessible dock

Rep. Magaziner says that the funding will serve as an investment in climate resiliency measures, preserving Rhode Island’s coastal treasure for future generations to enjoy.

East Greenwich Town Council President shared that the Waterfront Master Plan will now become a reality through this federal funding.

Some of the improvements will increase waterfront access for recreational use in the Narragansett Bay.

This federal funding is among 15 grants totaling $12,883,568 for Rhode Island projects.
