PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — 11 people were displaced after a fire in Plainville on Monday evening.

Officials said crews responded to calls of a house fire on Grove Street at 5:45 p.m. and were able to contain the blaze to one side of the home.

An individual was treated on-scene for possible smoke inhalation and a panic attack, per authorities.

One side of the home was destroyed, while the other suffered smoke and water damage, officials said.

Firefighters rescued a dog and “many” cats from the house.

No other injuries were reported in the incident, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
