Missing Portsmouth teenager found dead near Newport State Airport

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Middletown Police Department said that the body of a missing 17-year-old was found near Newport State Airport.

The department, alongside Newport and Portsmouth police and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, found the body of Owen Cameron around 11 a.m Wednesday.

Cameron, who had been missing since March 23, was found partially submerged in a small body of water.

The department said the Rhode Island State Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an investigation into the death, but no foul play is currently suspected.
