Community vigil planned in Newport for Portsmouth teen

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — A community vigil is planned for a Portsmouth teen who was found dead after being missing for several days.

The Channing Memorial Church in Newport will hold a community vigil to mourn the loss of Owen Cameron, 17.

The vigil will take place on March 30 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

A GoFundMe was established to support the Cameron family for funeral costs. Excess funds will be donated to activities Owen was involved with.

Cameron went missing March 23 and his body was found March 27 near Newport State Airport partially submerged in a small body of water.
