RISP arrest two for 2023 highway shooting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Police announced that two men were arrested for a 2023 shooting that left one man in critical condition.

Enrique Miranda, 34, of North Providence and Jarvon Brown, 33, of Providence, were arrested on the following charges:

  • Assault Intent to Commit Murder
  • Using a Firearm when Committing a Crime of Violence, resulting in injury
  • Drive-By Shooting
  • License Required for Carrying a Pistol
  • Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons Prohibited
  • Manufacturing, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule I or II (3rd Offense)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I
  • Conspiracy

On October 21, 2023, RISP initiated the investigation of a shooting that happened on Route 95 North near exit 38 in Providence.

The incident was determined as a targeted attack on the victim that sustained one gunshot wound to his abdomen and multiple shots to his vehicle.

The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital but survived the assault.

After further investigation by the Major Crimes Unit, detectives were able to identify the suspects as Miranda and Brown.

According to police, detectives executed over 25 search warrants. During the search warrant at Miranda’s North Providence home, detectives seized drug paraphernalia and cash.

The search warrant at Brown’s residence resulted in the seizure of MDMA.

Both were held without bail and will face a judge at a future date.
