RIPTA CEO cited in connection to a hit and run

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Former Warwick Mayor and Current Rhode Island Public Transit Authority CEO Scott Avedisian was cited in connection with a crash.

Avedisian was cited with duty to give information, render aid, report an accident to police.

The Warwick Police Department said the incident occurred on March 27 at the drive thru of the McDonalds on Post Road.

Avedisian allegedly rear-ended the vehicle in front of him, which caused that car to hit the vehicle in front of it.

Police added there was minor damage to the vehicles and no injuries, but the suspect vehicle left the scene.

RIPTA has not yet responded to a request for comment.
