Suspect in Worcester double-killing held without bail

WORCESTER, Mass. (WLNE) — The suspect in the double-killing of a mother and daughter in Worcester was arraigned Friday.

27-year-old Dejan Belnavis was ordered held without bail pending a probable cause hearing in May in Worcester County District Court.

Belnavis was charged with two counts of murder in the homicide of Chasity Nuñez and her 11-year-old daughter Zella on March 3.

Police said two suspects shot the victims in their parked car in a Worcester neighborhood.

One suspect, 28-year-old Karel Mangual, was arrested on March 6 and charged in connection with the incident.

Belnavis was extradited after his capture in San Diego on March 11.
