Ferry service from Providence to Newport canceled for Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) has canceled ferry services from Providence to Newport for Saturday, August 25.
RIDOT announced the temporary cancellation over twitter, citing mechanical issues.
Due to mechanical issues, there will be no Providence to Newport ferry service today. Per SeaStreak, service expected to resume tomorrow.

The ferry services are expected to resume Sunday, August 26.
