Deadly 2023 Providence hit-and-run suspect due in court

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) —  A Providence woman accused in a fatal hit-and-run in October of 2023 is expected in court Monday.

Caitlin Kelly, 28, was arrested in October of 2023 after allegedly hitting and killing an elderly Providence resident with her car on North Main Street.

Kelly was charged in February with one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

According to police, surveillance footage and text messages confirm that Kelly was aware she had struck the woman and knowingly left the scene.

Kelly admitted she was driving on North Main Street at the time of the accident but does not remember hitting anyone.
