44 new affordable apartments coming to Central Falls

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WLNE) — 44 new affordable apartments will be built in Central Falls by ONE Neighborhood Builders with construction to begin in 2024.
The Broad Street Homes development will feature 17 new units built into the former police station on Broad Street and a new 27-unit, four-story building built across the street.
All financing for the project has been secured by ONE Neighborhood Builders.
The properties were chosen through Mayor Maria Rivera’s Housing Task Force and were purchased by the city via the RIHousing Site Acquisition Program.
“As one of the densest cities in America and communities hit hardest by the housing crisis, our City of Central Falls team has been hyper-focused on creative ways to increase our desperately-needed affordable housing stock,” said Mayor Rivera.
“I’m grateful for our funders who supported this vision, and look forward to the start of construction and our continued work with our local developer, ONE Neighborhood Builders, to bring this project to life.”
The apartments will be available to households earning not more than 60% of the area’s median income, which equates to $43,020 for a two-person family, or $61,440 for a family of four.
