Raynham man convicted on drug trafficking, illegal gun charges

RAYNHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — A Raynham man was convicted of trafficking fentanyl and cocaine while also possessing illegal guns.

37-year-old Terrance Silveira pleaded guilty last week in Fall River Superior Court and was sentenced to serve seven to nine years in state prison, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Investigators identified Silveira’s phone number as a source of supply during an investigation into a fatal drug overdose.

Undercover Massachusetts State Troopers then conducted five controlled buys of fentanyl from him, per authorities.

Silveira was taken into custody on Jan. 12, 2023, and a search of his home revealed over 100 grams of cocaine and fentanyl each.

Officials said they also recovered $9,952 in cash, two guns with ammunition, high-capacity feeding devices, and drug distribution materials.

Silveira previously served multiple state prison and county jail sentences for drug trafficking and assaults.

He is now set to serve up to nine years in state prison on the following charges:

  • Trafficking fentanyl & cocaine
  • Possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl (five counts)
  • Unlawful possession of ammunition
  • Unlawful possession of a firearm
  • Unlawful possession of a high-capacity feeding device
