Man found unresponsive in Dighton after apparent hit and run

DIGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Dighton Police Department is looking for information on a man who was found lying on the side of the road on Thursday.

Police said he was hit by a vehicle.

The man was found alongside the westbound side of Route 44 in the area of the Gulf gas station.

An off duty police officer found the man, and officials don’t know how long he was there.

Police believe the man was walking along Route 44 when he was hit.

The department said the man was taken to a local hospital and his condition is unknown.

Police added that anyone who was a witness or has information on the incident should call the Dighton Police Department at (508) 669-6711.

Police also believe they are looking for a Toyota in connection with the incident.
