Section of Newport Cliffwalk closed due to a sinkhole

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Another portion of the iconic Cliffwalk in Newport has been closed. 

According to the city a sinkhole was found between Clarendon Court and Miramar. 

There is signage to help guide people around the closure.

There is no word yet on the extent of repairs it will need or how long it could take. 

This is just the latest setback in a series of issues with parts of the Cliffwalk due to erosion along the picturesque seaside path.
