Police investigating Sunday afternoon shooting in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A 28-year-old man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital after he was shot in Providence on Sunday.

Police say Allen Tavares Bello, 28, of East Greenwich, was the passenger in a car traveling on Prairie Avenue near Dudley Street when he was shot at.

Bello was dropped off at RIH and is being treated for a gunshot wound.

Shell casings were found on Prairie Avenue, according to Commander Thomas Verdi.

Verdi said police are investigating, and at this point in time no one has been apprehended.
