Police: Man was drunk when he fired shots across street, into home, hitting woman

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – A shooting that occurred on West Shore Road left one woman hospitalized and one suspect in custody.

On Tuesday, August 14, around 6:30 p.m. police responded to a report of a woman bleeding in her home, who they later found out was shot.

The woman was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Police arrested the suspect, Richard Wade, 37, of Warwick. Wade was found down the road from the scene of the shooting.

Evidence is still being collected by detectives, and the investigation is still ongoing. 

Police are unable to say if there was motive behind this shooting or is it was a random act.
