Somerset police chief to retire after 33-year career

SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE) — Somerset Police Chief Todd Costa will be retiring from the department after a 33-year career, according to a statement from Somerset police.
Chief Costa will officially retire on August 3.
“My decision has been prompted by the realization that my most valuable asset is time; time that I wish to dedicate to my family, including my wife retired Somerset Police Sgt. Tracey Costa, my son’s and grandchildren, and the pursuit of other interests,” said Costa in a statement.
“To the residents of Somerset who have placed their confidence in me, please rest assured that for the next four months, I remain committed to assuring that you will continue to receive the excellence in policing and service that you deserve.”
