BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) – A Brockton police officer was sent to the hospital after veering off the road and colliding with trees on Saturday night.

Police said bright headlights of an oncoming car in the same eastbound lane, combined with bad road conditions forced an officer to slide off of Court Street.

The officer ended up crashing into multiple trees just before 5 p.m. on Saturday.

According to police, the officer was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.  The 24-year-old officer was treated for his injuries and has since been released.

Authorities say the unidentified oncoming vehicle never stopped.
