WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The West Warwick Police Department said that it investigated a suspicious package incident on Pulaski Street on Friday.

Police said they were called to a self-storage facility around 1 p.m. when a person cleaning out an abandoned storage unit found a bag of “what appeared to be several military-style Claymore mines.”

Police cordoned off and evacuated the storage facility as well as the street and a nearby daycare.

The department added that the bomb squad found the items inert and that there was never any danger to the area.
