Fall River teen admits to vandalizing Tiverton gas station
TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Police said a teen from Fall River admitted to vandalizing a Tiverton gas station last week.
Tiverton Police Chief Patrick Jones said 19-year-old Jadon West faces charges after the incident at American Dream Gas on Main Road.
Officers responding to reports of debris in the roadway around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday found objects strewn about the gas station and several damaged fuel pump screens.
Investigators were able to obtain surveillance footage revealing a possible suspect and found a man matching the description sleeping on a bench nearby, according to authorities.
Jones said West was detained and transported to Tiverton Police Headquarters, where he admitted to causing the damage.
West was taken into custody and charged with three counts of vandalism and one count of disorderly conduct, per officials.
He was held overnight and taken to 2nd Division District Court in Newport the next day, where his bail was set at $1000 surety.
Authorities said West’s next scheduled court date is April 18.
