Students collect 250 cereal boxes for food pantry

Cereal boxes were organized into a domino maze throughout the first-floor hallways at Willett Elementary before being donated to Hebron Food Pantry.

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Students from Thomas Willett Elementary School collected hundreds of cereal boxes to support The Hebron Food Pantry.

Children from grades K through 4 participated in a Cereal Box Challenge, collecting a total of 250 boxes for the pantry. The Hebron Food Pantry, located in Attleboro, serves on average around 300 families and individuals each week.

The boxes were organized in a maze before being transported to the pantry on Tuesday.

“I’m grateful to all of the students and families who donated to the Cereal Box Challenge,” Principal Jeffrey Cateon said in a statement. “Their donations will provide support to those who need it in the community, and it was wonderful to see students excited by the idea of giving back.”
