NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) —  A Providence man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly threatening to place a bomb in his former employer’s car.

The North Kingstown Police Department said 42-year-old Ramon Pica was taken into custody after the Detective Bureau determined the call came from Pica.

According to police, Pica reportedly contacted Taylor Farms at Commerce Park Road on Tuesday at 11:37 a.m., identifying himself as a previous employee, before making the threat to place an explosive in his supervisor’s car.

North Kingstown Police and Fire immediately responded following the phone call, and a K-9 sweep determined the area negative for explosives. Police said there is no threat to the public.
