UPDATE: Police identify victim in Westport 195 pedestrian crash

WESTPORT, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police have identified the female victim of a 195 crash in Westport that occurred Monday at approximately 10:05 p.m.

Sherry M. Henderson, 51, of New Bedford exited a vehicle onto 195 when she and her boyfriend got into an argument, according to Massachusetts State Police.

It was determined that Henderson entered the right travel lane and was struck by a Ford Fusion.

The boyfriend left the scene before first responders arrived and later called New Bedford police to inform them that Henderson had been struck by a car on the highway.

The driver who struck Henderson immediately called 911 and remained on the scene.

Witnesses state that Henderson suddenly ran out onto the highway and that the Fusion was not able to avoid hitting her.
