Brown plans to ramp up security after car theft, break-in

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Brown University is upping its security after a break-in and a stolen car on campus in the last week.

According to the university, the car theft happened Sunday.

Brown University officials say a community member left their car parked on Brook Street all day and it was gone when they got back.

The dorm break-in happened on the 11th.

Two people pretending to be students got into a dorm room and ran off with the residents’ property.

Brown says it will increase campus security and conduct building checks more frequently.
