Warwick Police warn public of scam involving fake sheriff

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warwick Police Department said the public should be aware of a scam involving a person claiming to be a police sheriff.

Police said the scam involves the scammer calling people telling them they have missed Grand Jury selection for a case where they owe money.

Anyone who receives a similar call should call their local police department.
