JWU focuses on campus pollinator species, trees for Earth Day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Johnson & Wales University will celebrate Earth Day using campus landscapes to benefit pollinator species.

This initiative will be in partnership with Bee Campus USA.

JWU will also work with Tree Campus High Education which helps prioritize the health of trees on their campus.

“JWU is committed to creating a more sustainable Providence Campus,” said Matthew Fannon, JWU’s Director of Sustainability & Resource Management.

“We are honored to once again take part in these important initiatives.”

JWU also worked alongside the City of Providence to raise awareness about storm water innovation and shoreline conservation.

Students are also being encouraged to donate their usable items to the Move Out and Donate event when the spring semester comes to a close.

These donations will be delivered to the Rhode Island Food Bank and the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Rhode Island.
