Police search for armed suspect in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Police are searching for an armed man in Providence.

Officers confirmed Monday afternoon they were looking for a person with a ski mask on and a gun in hand in the area of Woodman Street.

Police said the person ran through several backyards, evading capture.

Authorities blocked off the road as officers gathered evidence from the street.

The scene has since been cleared, but police said the suspect was still on the loose.
