NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI – Officers had to revive a Woonsocket man in North Smithfield who overdosed with his toddler in the backseat of his car.

Officers say they found Michael Krajczynski, 33, behind the wheel of his van near Victory Highway and North Main Street Friday evening. They say he was gurgling, then turned blue and appeared to stop breathing. Police say it took four doses of Narcan to revive him.

His 1.5 year old son was in the back seat of the van. Officers contacted DCYF, and the child was later released to his mother.

Krajczynski told police he had taken what he thought were Oxycontins and pulled over when he started to feel strange. He’s been charged with cruelty to or neglect of a child.
