Freeze warning goes into effect tonight, cool end to the week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A *FREEZE WARNING* has been issued for early Thursday morning.

Widespread sub-freezing temperatures are possible, which could kill sensitive crops and plants.

This may get re-issued for Friday morning as well. Outside of that, expect ample sunshine and cool highs in the mid to upper 50s on both Thursday and Friday.

Warmer temps are expected over the weekend, but we may have to dodge a few showers Saturday night into Sunday. But the weekend definitely isn’t bad.

Highs near 70 are expected as we head into the new workweek!
