Providence Summer Opportunities Fair scheduled for Saturday
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Mayor Brett Smiley and Providence Public Schools Superintendent Javier Montañez are inviting Providence students, youths, families, and community members to the Summer Opportunities Fair on April 27.
The fair, which is part of the EAT, PLAY, LEARN PVD program, will allow families to get more information on and sign up for summer programs, camps, and jobs.
Sign-ups for all-day summer recreation camps start at $5 per week and will open on the day of the fair.
The city said it will be offering 1,175 slots to sports camps, 690 slots to day camps and 70 slots to specialty boating and biking camps.
“The Summer Opportunities Fair is an incredible opportunity for our community to come together to learn more about the wide range of exciting activities and quality summer programming opportunities available to our youth this summer,” Smiley said.
The fair takes place at Providence Career and Technical Academy and runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
