RIDOT seek proposals for Washington Bridge demolition

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is seeking design and build services in demolishing the Washington Bridge.

RIDOT has posted a request for proposals online. Bidders can submit their proposals here by June 21.

The demolition process of the bridge is being divided into four projects; the west end of the bridge, the east cantilever spans, and the east end of the structure. Each project will have a competition date, with competition of the entire bridge set for March of next year.

Lanes are reopen from South Main Street to Broadway on 195 as RIDOT continues to pave, and the three lanes in both directions will be in effect until demolition begins.
