Boston officials return lost history to Japan

OKINAWA, Japan. (WLNE) — Members of the Boston branch of the FBI and the U.S. Embassy visited Tokyo this week to return artifacts that were thought to be lost to history.
22 artifacts from Okinawa were returned that included pottery, tapestries, and a hand drawn map dating back to the 18 century.
The FBI began looking into the lost artifacts back in 2023 after a family found the items while going through their late father’s items.
A formal ceremony was held at the Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum in Naha yesterday.
