ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Two students have created a writing club at Studley Elementary School.

Third-grade students Isabella Mistler and Aubrey Henriquez wrote a letter to Principal Boyle in the hopes of creating the club back in April.

Every week, students meet and share their fellow love of writing while also picking topics to write about. A goal of the club is to have a published piece in a newsletter to families and staff.

In a statement, Principal Lisa Boyle said:

“I was very excited to work with Isabella and Aubrey when they approached me with their idea. Their passion for writing and determination to share it with their peers led to a club where students meet to be creative and share ideas. I’m proud of them for sharing their vision with me and working hard to make it happen.”

Superintendent David Sawyer said:

“Isabella’s and Aubrey’s innovative spirit to start this club at Studley Elementary has been very impressive to see. Their writing club is proof that when students develop ideas and create plans, they can make them happen. I can’t wait to read the stories they produce.”
