Fall River puts out request for proposals for city’s opioid response

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The city of Fall River has announced that they have released a request for proposals for their opioid settlement funds.
On Monday, Fall River received nearly 8 million dollars in opioid settlement funds.
The city will award the winner up to $1.2 million to provide opioid response strategies; including substance use prevention, harm reduction, recovery, and treatment services.
Final funding decisions will be made based on a variety of factors including but not limited to the quality and quantity of grant requests and the availability of funding.
Last year, the city created the Fall River Opioid Settlement Funds Advisory Committee to help recommend what to do with the funding.
The RFP is open until June 16.
