Crash on I-95 closes highway in both directions in Norwalk, Connecticut
NORWALK, Connecticut (WLNE) — A crash that lit up I-95 in flames on Thursday closed both sides of the highway in Norwalk.
On Twitter, the Norwalk Police Department shared this morning that emergency services were working to extinguish a petroleum truck on fire underneath the Fairfield Ave overpass.
In a tweet, the department also shared that the highway would be closed near exit 15 while their crews continued to work the scene.
Emergency crews continue to work the scene of the tanker fire on I95. Our officers are working to reroute traffic throughout the city. We remind everyone to seek alternate routes and give yourself extra time to travel.

Governor of Connecticut Ned Lamont held a press conference Thursday morning in which he reported that there were no serious injuries.

Secretary Pete Buttigieg also shared on social media that that their highway teams were working closely with Connecticut’s DOT. He urged residents to seek alternate routes.
