RIDEM to host Freshwater Fishing Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management announced that it will hold its annual Free Fishing Weekend.

From Saturday, May 4 to Sunday May 5, RIDEM is inviting Rhode Island residents to fish in freshwater without a fishing license. A complete list of stocked waters can be found here.

RIDEM said that the program provides an opportunity to encourage residents to experience freshwater fishing as a new outdoor experience, and highlight some of the state’s premier freshwater areas.
