RISD students rally for Palestine

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — On Monday, hundreds of students from the Rhode Island School of Design called for a ceasefire in Gaza, while also calling on RISD President Crystal Williams to divest from Israel.

Students say they will not leave the building at 20 Washington Place until Williams;

  • Provides total fiscal transparency of RISD’s divestment;
  • Commits to a holistic divestment from companies, corporations, and institutions that are implicated in sustaining’s Israel’s Apartheid;
  • Establishes a student oversight committee for future investments;
  • Publicly condemns Israel’s invasion of Gaza as a genocide.

Students say they will sit in the Providence Washington building until their demands are met.
